Hi everyone,
On Wednesday I attended another wonderful Heartlink event and one of the attendees, Lorie Phare, mentioned that I had promised to blog about the Maraschino Cherry cake I made a few weeks ago, and I totally forgot, so here I am, ready to share the recipe with you.
The recipe is from one of my favourite bloggers, HeatherBaird from SprinkleBakes, she actually has her first book coming out in May and I pre-ordered it on Wednesday, I can’t wait for it to arrive.
You can fine the recipe here, I didn’t use the same frosting though, I used the Italian meringue butter cream recipe that I’ve used before, because I was comfortable with the process, you can find the link via my post “Hoping for an Indian Summer”.
Here are a few photos I took with my iPhone while I was making the cake, unfortunately there are none of the frosting making process because it is quite strict and I had to focus ALL of my attention on the recipe and the steps involved. This was only the second time I had made it so it still made me a bit nervous.
Since the Marachino Cherry cake I’ve made some other creations.
First off some cake pops for the “Show some SkIN” show in Maple Ridge to showcase the new artist at Haney Ink, Brandon Francie.
Next a baby shower cake
Then it was on to my first wedding of 2012 at Swan e set; this year is going to be great, I can feel it!
Next was a Transformer themed cake for Hilery’s son, Hilery makes wonderful gift baskets, you can check her out on facebook at Give a wrap.
Lastly was a dinosaur cake for one of my biggest fans. Reece has been a long time Cakelicious fan and I was so excited to create this cake for him!
These are the treats I made for Wednesday’s Heartlink event. Red Velvet cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting.
If you follow my facebook page or my tweets you may know that I have a special on for Valentines day; What better way to say I love you than with cake pops!
I was taking prototype photos for my cake pop add and a little kitty named Hank couldn't keep out of the way, check it out!
Love,
Heidi
